Charles Spurgeon

Charles Spurgeon (1834–1892), famed Baptist preacher, author of Morning and Evening.

Charles Haddon Spurgeon (1834–1892) was a renowned English Baptist preacher, often called the “Prince of Preachers.” At age 19 he became pastor of New Park Street Chapel in London, where his powerful sermons drew vast crowds. He later founded the Metropolitan Tabernacle, which seated thousands weekly. Spurgeon was also a prolific writer, producing sermons, commentaries, and devotional works such as Morning and Evening and The Treasury of David. He established a pastors’ college and orphanages, leaving a deep influence on evangelical Christianity worldwide.
