Francis Bottome (1823–1894) was a British-born Methodist minister and hymn writer who later served in the United States. Known for his passionate preaching and devotional writing, Bottome emphasized holiness and the deeper Christian life. He is best remembered for his hymn A Living Prayer, which reflects his desire for a Christ-centered walk of faith. Through his ministry and music, Bottome contributed significantly to 19th-century Methodist spirituality.
