Faithfulness to God and faithfulness to souls are never in conflict. The world may perceive biblical truth as hatred, but true love warns of danger rather than affirming a path to destruction. If we see someone driving off a cliff, the loving response is not to compliment their driving but to warn them of the fall. We must be willing to be misunderstood by men to be faithful to the Lord.
