When a believer feels the weight of God's discipline, it is not the wrath of a judge seeking to destroy. It is the love of a Father seeking to restore. The anger of God toward His children is not destructive but productive and developmental. We no longer fear the Lord with the cowering trepidation of a criminal facing a sentence of hell. Christ has paid that debt. Instead, we offer God the reverence of a son who trusts his Father's wisdom and dreads nothing more than displeasing Him.
