How does a church-based seminary fundamentally change the way we train men for the ministry? We begin by looking ahead to the Speaking the Truth in Love conference, which takes place January 22-24, 2027. This gathering will focus on raising up faithful voices in a confusing age. In a time when sound biblical exposition is desperately needed, this Christian conference will equip believers to stand firm on the inerrancy, sufficiency, and final authority of God's Word. The conversation shifts to a major milestone in pastoral training, which is the launch of The Pastor's Seminary. This church-based seminary is built entirely on the principle of direct mentorship by seasoned shepherds. By embedding theological education within the body of Christ, a local church seminary ensures that men are trained in the context of real pastoral ministry. We believe this model of pastoral mentorship is essential for guarding the truth and preparing qualified men to lead.
The goal of this educational initiative is to unite rigorous academic study with the practical wisdom of faithful elders. Our conviction is that the best place to forge a pastor is within the very life of the local congregation. We want to see men shaped by sound doctrine and a high view of God, ready to serve as undershepherds of Jesus Christ. Finally, Pastor Caldwell shares an exciting development regarding church planting efforts originating from Founders Baptist Church. We are thrilled to announce the upcoming launch of Willis Bible Church, a new congregation being established in Willis, Texas. This new church plant is scheduled to open its doors in early 2027. It will be governed by faithful men committed to elder led ministry, expository preaching, and a reverent worship of our holy Creator.
Establishing a new lampstand in Willis, Texas is a monumental undertaking that requires much prayer and support from the saints. We are praying that this new church will be a beacon of light, clearly proclaiming salvation by grace through faith in Christ alone. It is our hope that the surrounding community will be deeply impacted by a ministry that honors the complete sufficiency of Scripture.
